Alessandra Franco, performs jazz music, ethnomusic and improvisation in Italy and has been named by ‘Top Jazz 2002’ as one of the best new talents in Italian jazz. Her repertoire includes music from all over the world ( South America, Cape Verde, Greece, the Balkans, Russia and, last but not least, Naples) and she improvises while performing with dancers, actors, sculptors, and performers of every kind creating new genre performances. She is also engaged in the field of vocal experimentation. She is in fact one of the few singers to perform John Cage’s repertoire. Alessandra Franco also works with electronic music groups and her credits include collaborations and recordings with jazz musicians such as : Ron,Custodio Castelo, U. T. Gandhi,Dino Saluzzi, Anja Lechner, Giovanni Maier, Tristan Holsinger , Phil Minton , Fausto Beccalossi, Riccardo Morpurgo ,Giorgio Pacorig, Arrigo Cappelletti, Flavio Minardo,Andrea Allione, Nevio Zaninotto, ,Luca Colussi, Bruno Romani, Flavio Davanzo, Maurizio Ravalico, Alessandro Cristilli, Stefano Solani, Eduardo Contizanetti, Daniele Dagaro, Giuliano Tull, Andrea Lombardini, Ermes Gherardini, Marco Collazzoni, Alexander Ipavec. Currently she works with several musicians and groups, particularly the Earthbeat Ensemble quintet , and the string trio Clobeda’s, whose repertoire comprises popular music from different countries and original pieces.
